足的远端横弓位于其近端（或后方）对应弓的前方。该弓在冠状面上横跨足底，由跖骨头构成。
足的远端横弓被认为是"完整"的，因为在每只足中，其外侧端和内侧端均与地面接触，使其呈完全圆弧状外观。
该弓由跖骨间韧带和足底内在肌提供支撑。具体而言，拇收肌的横头将各跖骨头束缚在一起。
