外侧丘系

定义
外侧丘系沿中脑外侧沟走行至中脑表面，并消失于下丘之下。它由来自听神经耳蜗支终末核的纤维组成，并汇合来自上橄榄核和斜方体核的纤维。这些纤维大多数为交叉纤维，但也有部分为非交叉纤维。其中许多纤维投射至同侧或对侧的下丘，而另一些纤维则延伸至丘脑，再经内囊枕部投射至颞中回和颞上回。
