喉入口的边界如下：前方为会厌；后方为杓状软骨尖、小角软骨（被黏膜覆盖时形成小角结节）及杓间切迹；两侧为黏膜皱襞，其内包含韧带纤维和肌纤维，张于会厌侧缘与杓状软骨尖之间，即杓会厌襞，在该皱襞后部边缘处，楔状软骨形成一个或明显或不明显的白色隆起，即楔状结节。
