Inversio
Definition
Inversion of the foot is a movement which involves tilting of the foot such that the sole of the foot faces medially or inwards. The movement occurs at the intertarsal and tarsometatarsal joints and NOT at the ankle joint.
The opposite of inversion is eversion, where the sole of the foot faces outwards or laterally.
