Definition
The middle temporal branch of the MCA supplies the middle part of the two superior temporal gyri.
The cortical area supplied by this artery (Michotey et al.) is the middle temporal area: superior temporal gyrus neat the level of the pars triangularis and pars opercularis, the middle part of the middle temporal gyrus, and the middle and posterior pat of the inferior temporal gyrus.
