Cisterna cerebellaris superior
Definition
The superior cerebellar cistern is located on the upper surface of cerebellar vermis, mostly without precise lateral limits.
The superior cerebellar cistern continues the quadrigeminal cistern posteriorly, and follows the straight sinus up to the confluence of the sinuses (torcular of Herophilus) and from here, continues with the posterior cerebellomedullary cistern (cisterna magna).
