Definition
The superior branch of vestibular nerve arises from bipolar cells of the vestibular ganglion. The superior branch of vestibular nerve is located in the posterosuperior quadrant of the internal auditory canal.
It then passes through the foramina in the area vestibularis superior and ends in the utricle and in the osseous ampullae of the superior and lateral semicircular ducts.
It gives 3 branches:
- Utricular nerve
- Anterior ampullary nerve
- Lateral ampullary nerve
