膝降动脉（最高膝动脉；a. genu suprema；吻合大动脉）起自股动脉在穿过大收肌腱裂孔之前，随即分为三条主要分支：肌支、关节支和隐神经支。

膝降动脉的肌支为一支或数支，分布于股四头肌。
隐支穿过收肌管的腱膜覆盖层，伴随隐神经走行至膝关节内侧。它经缝匠肌与股薄肌之间穿行，穿过阔筋膜后，分布于小腿上部及内侧的皮肤，并与膝内下动脉形成吻合。膝降动脉的隐支在52%的病例中直接起自股浅动脉（而非起自膝降动脉）。[1]
关节支在股内侧肌实质内下行，经大收肌腱前方走向膝关节内侧，在此与膝内上动脉及胫前返动脉形成吻合。该血管的一个分支跨越股骨髌面上方，与膝外上动脉形成吻合弓，并向膝关节发出分支。
