弓状动脉发出第二、第三和第四跖背动脉，这些动脉向前走行于相应的骨间背侧肌上方；在趾间隙处，每条动脉分为两条趾背支，分布于相邻趾的背侧。
在骨间隙近端，这些血管接受来自足底弓的后穿支；在骨间隙远端，它们与来自足底跖动脉的前穿支相汇合。第四跖背动脉发出一支，供应第五趾外侧。
第一跖背动脉（a. dorsalis hallucis）沿第一骨间背侧肌向前走行，在第一趾与第二趾之间的趾蹼处分为两支：一支穿行于拇长伸肌腱深面，分布于拇趾内侧缘；另一支分叉，供应拇趾与第二趾相邻侧。
