屏状核

定义
屏状核是一薄层灰质，位于外囊的外侧面。其横断面呈三角形，尖端朝上。其内侧面与外囊相毗邻，表面光滑；而外侧面则呈现出与岛叶的脑回和脑沟相对应的嵴和沟，与岛叶关系密切。屏状核被认为是岛叶灰质的分离部分，二者之间由一层白质纤维即最外囊所分隔。其细胞较小，呈梭形，含有黄色色素；与皮质最深层的细胞相似。
