网状膜（网状板）是一种精细的框架结构，其上布有圆形孔洞，外毛细胞的游离末端位于其中。
它从科蒂外柱的头部延伸至外毛细胞的最外排，由数排被称为指节的"微小提琴形角质结构"构成，其间分布有包含毛细胞游离末端的圆形开口。最内排指节由科蒂外柱的指节突构成；外侧各排则由戴特斯细胞经改化的游离末端形成。
