尿道内口位于膀胱三角的顶端，处于膀胱最低位的部分，通常呈半月形；其正后方的黏膜略有隆起，称为膀胱悬雍垂，由前列腺中叶所致。
当膀胱充盈时，尿道内口关闭，与周围结构共同形成一平坦的层面（充盈期尿道内口）。
当膀胱排空时，膀胱颈部如漏斗状回缩，男性尿道呈现缩短状态（排空期尿道内口）。
