声辐射（又称听辐射）是大脑感觉听觉（耳蜗）通路的重要组成部分。它包含丘脑皮质神经元投射，将听觉信号从丘脑内侧膝状体核传递至初级听觉皮质（Brodmann区41、42区）。初级听觉皮质由一个或两个细小的横向颞横回组成，位于颞上回表面，深埋于外侧裂（侧裂）中，构成其颞叶唇的一部分。

从耳蜗通路的神经解剖学角度来看，在耳蜗核吻侧，由于神经通路广泛交叉，左右两耳在大脑中线两侧均有双侧代表区。因此，一侧声辐射或初级听觉皮质的病变通常仅导致部分性（皮质性）听力丧失，而不会导致完全性听力丧失。
