肝门静脉通常在约88%的病例中分为两条主要分支。[1-3]
肝门静脉右支（门静脉右支）进一步分为前段支和后段支，再分为上区静脉和下区静脉。
肝门静脉左支（门静脉左支）分为两部分：横部和脐部。门静脉左支供应肝脏II、III和IV段，段支由此两部分发出。[1][4]
在某些情况下，门静脉的分支方式可出现变异，如门静脉三叉分支或四叉分支。
