泪囊是鼻泪管上端的扩张部分，位于由泪骨和上颌骨额突共同形成的深沟内。
泪囊呈椭圆形，长度为12至15毫米；其上端封闭且呈圆形；其下端与鼻泪管相延续。泪囊的浅面被源自内眦韧带的纤维扩展部所覆盖，其深面则有眼轮匝肌的泪部横过，该部分附着于泪骨嵴上。
泪囊由纤维弹性外膜构成，内衬黏膜：黏膜经泪小管与结膜相延续，并经鼻泪管与鼻腔黏膜相延续。
