Choroidal branches to fourth ventricle of posterior inferior cerebellar artery
Rami chorioidei ventriculi quarti arteriae inferioris posterioris cerebelli
- Latin synonym: Rami choroidei ventriculi quarti arteriae inferioris posterioris cerebelli
- Related terms: Choroidal branches to fourth ventricle; Choroidal branch to fourth ventricle
Definition
Choroidal branch to fourth ventricle of posterior inferior cerebellar artery:
The posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) gives choroidal branches to the tela choroidea and choroid plexus of the fourth ventricle. These branches provide the majority of the arterial supply to the choroid plexus associated with the roof and median opening (foramen of Magendie) of the fourth ventricle. Their precise origin along the PICA may vary because of the artery's variable branching pattern.
