Infundibulum ethmoideum

Definition
The ethmoidal infundibulum is a narrow channel that can be seen in the middle meatus region of the lateral nasal wall. It continues upward and forward from the semilunar hiatus, which is a curved bony groove located below the ethmoidal bulla in the middle meatus. The ethmoidal infundibulum then extends further upward into the front part of the ethmoidal bony labyrinth, becoming the frontonasal duct. This duct is responsible for draining the fontal air sinus and the anterior ethmoidal air cells into the semilunar hiatus via the infundibulum.
