Definition
Lingual branches of lingual nerve are indistinct branches which arise as the lingual nerve courses anteriorly inside the lower gingival sulcus underneath the lingual mucosa, but superficial to the submandibular gland and ganglion.
Other non-specific branches from the lingual nerve include the gingival branches, branches to submandibular gland and ganglion, branches to sublingual ganglion and the sublingual nerve.
