Definition
The muscular branches of the superficial fibular nerve supply the muscles of the lateral compartment of the leg, specifically the fibularis longus and fibularis brevis. These branches are typically small and are distributed proximally before the nerve becomes predominantly sensory as it descends distally in the leg
