Definition
The nerve to lateral pterygoid (External Pterygoid Nerve ; n. pterygoideus externus) frequently arises in conjunction with the buccinator nerve, but it may be given off separately from the anterior division of the mandibular nerve. It enters the deep surface of the muscle.
