Plantaris

Definition

Plantar refers to the sole of the foot. It is also known as the flexor or the inferior surface of the foot, when kept in the normal anatomical position, (i.e. the hip, knee and ankle extended, with sole facing downwards and/or backwards)

For instance, plantar aponeurosis is an example of a plantar structure and is situated in the sole of the foot.
