Paries posterior sinus maxillaris
Definition
The posterior wall (posterolateral wall) of maxillary sinus is also known as temporal surface.
It is very thick and is formed by the body of the superior portion of the maxilla and contends the alveolar canals, transmitting the posterior superior alveolar vessels and nerves to the molar teeth. The infratemporal fossa lies behind the posterior wall of the maxillary sinus.
