The rostral lateral cisterns are a group of paired cerebrospinal supratentorial fluid-filled subarachnoid cisterns, including:

  • Carotid cistern

  • Olfactory cistern

  • Cistern of lateral cerebral fossa

  • Cistern of cerebral vallecula

  • Cistern of central sulcus
