Definition

Antoine Micheau

The urogenital triangle is an anatomical region of the perineum. It is one of the two triangles that make up the perineal region, the other being the anal triangle. The urogenital triangle is bounded anteriorly by the pubic symphysis, laterally by the ischial tuberosities, and posteriorly by an imaginary line connecting the ischial tuberosities. This region contains structures related to the urogenital system, including the external genitalia and the urethra.

In males, the urogenital triangle includes the root of the penis, the scrotum, and the associated muscles such as the bulbospongiosus and ischiocavernosus muscles. In females, it contains the vulva, including the labia majora and minora, the clitoris, and the associated muscles like the bulbospongiosus and ischiocavernosus muscles.
