Gyrus frontalis superior
定义
额上回位于额上沟上方，并延续至大脑半球的内侧面。
位于大脑半球外侧面的部分，通常或多或少被一条前后走向的沟——旁正中沟——完全分为上、下两部分，但该沟常被桥接脑回所中断。
位于大脑半球内侧面的部分，可被一条前后走向的沟——额上吻侧沟（SRS）——分为上、下两部分。这些部分未被正式收录于《解剖学术语》（Terminologia Anatomica）或TNA中，但被描述*为：
- 额上回内侧面上段（smSFG）：位于扣带回（CG）或旁扣带回（PCS）与额上吻侧沟（SRS）之间的脑回。
- 额上回内侧面下段（imSFG）：位于额上吻侧沟（SRS）与吻侧下沟（IRS）之间、紧位于直回上方的脑回。此部分有时被称为"吻侧回"。
