旧皮质是一种薄而原始的皮质组织，由三至五层皮质板层（神经元胞体层）组成。旧皮质存在于海马旁回、嗅球、副嗅球、嗅结节、梨状皮质、杏仁周区、嗅前神经核、前穿质以及梨状前区。
