定义
三叉神经感觉根的纤维起自半月神经节的细胞，该神经节位于颞骨岩部尖端附近硬膜的腔隙内。这些纤维向后走行于岩上窦和小脑幕的下方，进入脑桥后分为上根和下根。上根部分终止于脑桥内位于下运动核外侧的神经核，部分终止于蓝斑；下根穿行于脑桥和延髓，终止于Rolando胶状质的上部。此下根有时被称为该神经的脊髓根。感觉根纤维的髓鞘化始于胎儿生命的第五个月左右，但其全部纤维直至出生后第三个月才完成髓鞘化。
