输精管肌层在管道的大部分区段由两层平滑肌纤维构成：外层纤维纵行排列，内层纤维环行排列；但除此之外，在输精管的起始部，还存在第三层，由纵行纤维构成，位于环行层的内侧，介于环行层与黏膜之间；
