NAV中仅收录"盲肠动脉"这一术语，但如Barone所述，在肉食动物（以及人类）中可描述两条盲肠动脉：
- 盲肠背侧动脉是回结肠动脉的背侧终末支，横越回结肠连接处背侧面，进入盲肠袢及回盲襞，发出分支至盲肠，并以反系肠膜回肠支（肉食动物，反刍动物）终止。
- 盲肠腹侧动脉是回结肠动脉的腹侧分支（与肠系膜回肠支共同发出），行向腹侧，经过小肠与大肠连接处，其分支分布于大肠邻近各部，甚至延伸至反系膜面。
