Artery of precentral sulcus
Arteria sulci precentralis
Definition
The artery of precentral sulcus is a branch of MCA that exits the lateral sulcus at the level of the opercular part of inferior frontal gyrus, and coursing in the precentral sulcus to the frontal lobe.
The cortical area supplied by this artery (Michotey et al.) is the precentral area: posterior part of the pars opercularis and the middle frontal gyrus, and the inferior and middle portions of the precentral gyrus.
