Definition
The articular facet of head of malleus refers to the region of the malleus head that articulates with the body of the incus within the tympanic cavity. It is an ovoid, slightly concave, smooth facet covered with cartilage, located on the superior and medial part of the head of the malleus. It articulates with the body of the incus to form the incudomallear joint.
