Eminentia hallucis

  • Synonym: Ball of foot

Definition

The hallucial eminence (a.k.a. ball of our foot) is the padded portion of the sole, that lies transversely, beneath the heads of the metatarsal bones.

Pain in the ball of the foot occurs when there is prolonged or repetitive pressure, often experienced by individuals wearing high heels for extended periods or engaging in sports like tennis.
