Inferior aberrant ductule
Ductulus aberrans inferior
- Related terms: Inferior aberrant ductule of epididymis
Definition
The inferior aberrant ductule is a small accessory duct sometimes found in the liver. It usually arises from the right hepatic lobe and drains bile directly into the gallbladder or the cystic duct instead of joining the main hepatic ducts. It is an anatomical variation and may be clinically important during gallbladder surgery.
