The intercartilaginous part of the rima glottidis (Intercartilaginous glottis; Respiratory glottis) is the posterior portion of the glottic opening, situated between the medial surfaces of the two arytenoid cartilages. It is distinguished from the anterior portion, the intermembranous part (also called the membranous glottis or phonatory glottis), which lies between the vocal ligaments/folds.
