Medial supracondylar line
Linea supracondylaris medialis
Definition
The medial supracondylar line is the continuation of the medial lip of the linea aspera, extending downward. Together with the lateral supracondylar line, it defines the posterior aspect of the lower end of the femur, forming the boundaries of the popliteal surface. Below, the medial supracondylar line terminates at the medial condyle of the femur. The peak of the medial supracondylar line on the medial condyle is known as the adductor tubercle, which serves as an attachment site for the adductor magnus muscle.
