Definition
Palmar refers to the palm or the anterior surface of the hand. It is also known as the flexor or the ventral surface of hand, when kept in the normal anatomical position, (i.e. the arm externally rotated, elbow extended, forearm supinated and wrist and fingers extended with the thumb facing laterally).
For instance, palmar aponeurosis and palmaris longus muscle, both are examples of palmar structures and are situated on the ventral surface of the hand.
