Coronal
Coronalis
Definition
Coronal plane (a.k.a. frontal plane) pertains to a vertical, side-to-side plane that, when it traverses the body in its anatomical position, separates it into anterior and posterior portions.
The coronal plane is perpendicular to the vertical sagittal plane and intersects the transverse (a.k.a. horizontal) plane at a right angle.
