Parietopontine fibres are descending corticopontine fibres arising from the parietal cortex and projecting to the ipsilateral pontine nuclei. In Prats-Galino et al. (2012), they are not identified as a separate tract but are grouped with temporal and occipital corticopontine fibres as the parietotemporooccipitopontine tract. This tract tends to occupy a more dorsolateral position than the frontopontine tract.

The corticopontine fibres relay in the pontine nuclei. From there, transverse pontine fibres cross the midline and pass through the middle cerebellar peduncle to reach the contralateral cerebellum. Thus, the parietopontine fibres themselves terminate in the pontine nuclei rather than crossing directly into the cerebellum.
