Perichoroidal space
Spatium perichoroideum
Definition
The perichoroidal space is a a potential space at the external surface of the choroid, separating it from the lamina fusca of the sclera. Few collagen fibers connect the lamina fusca with the choroid.
This space is lined by endothelium, and open freely into the perichoroidal lymph space, which, in its turn, communicates with the periscleral space by the perforations in the sclera through which the vessels and nerves are transmitted.
