Definition
The posterior axillary fold, also known as the posterior armpit fold, refers to the inferior border of the posterior wall of axilla. It is made by the axillary skin covering the muscle fibers of the latissimus dorsi muscle, as they stretch sideways to insert into the floor of the bicipital groove of the humerus.
