Definition
The posterior parietal artery is a branch of MCA coursing near the intraparietal sulcus.
The cortical area supplied by this artery (Michotey et al.) is the posterior parietal area: posterior part of the superior and inferior parietal lobules, including the supramarginal gyrus.
