The subserosa of stomach is a thin layer of loose connective tissue located between the muscularis externa and the serosa (visceral peritoneum). It contains small blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, nerves, and varying amounts of adipose tissue.

Function

The subserosa supports the serosal covering, anchors it to the muscular wall, and provides a pathway for vessels and nerves entering and leaving the stomach.
