Definition
The inferior branch of superior gluteal artery crosses the Gluteus minimus obliquely to the greater trochanter, distributing branches to the Glutæi and anastomoses with the lateral femoral circumflex artery. Some branches pierce the Gluteus minimus and supply the hip-joint.
