The supraduodenal part of the bile duct refers to the segment of the common bile duct (ductus choledochus) that lies above the duodenum, running within the hepatoduodenal ligament (the free edge of the lesser omentum).

It is the most surgically accessible portion of the common bile duct and extends from the junction of the cystic duct with the common hepatic duct (forming the common bile duct) down to the point where the duct passes behind the first part of the duodenum.
