The Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria (NAV) is a standardized nomenclature. Established by the World Association of Veterinary Anatomists (WAVA), it is used as a reference for anatomical terminology in the field of veterinary science concerning domestic mammals (domestic birds are listed in the Nomina Anatomica Avium). The main subjects it is based on are cats, dogs, pigs, bovines, sheep, goats, rabbits and horses.
