环池，又称cisterna ambiens，位于中脑侧方，处于小脑幕水平，向小脑幕上方及下方延伸。

环池被小脑上膜分为两部分：

毗邻关系：

  • 外侧：颞叶内侧面（钩回后部、海马旁回、齿状回及穹窿伞）
  • 内侧：中脑外侧面（自四叠体板外侧端起）
  • 前方：脚间池
  • 后方：四叠体池
