舌的下面（facies inferior linguæ，舌下面）通过颏舌肌与下颌骨相连；黏膜从此处反折，延续至牙龈的舌面及口底，在正中线处隆起形成一明显的垂直皱襞，即舌系带（frenulum linguæ）。在舌系带两侧，各有一黏膜皱襞，称为伞襞（plica fimbriata），其游离缘偶可见一系列流苏状突起。
