足的外侧缘称为足外侧缘，从足跟延伸至小趾。
构成足外侧缘的骨骼包括跟骨、骰骨、第五跖骨及小趾的趾骨。从侧面观察，这些骨骼呈弓形排列，构成足纵弓的外侧部分。
小趾展肌作为足内在肌肉，构成足外侧缘的肌性组成部分。
沿足外侧缘可见两条与腓骨长肌和腓骨短肌相关的重要肌腱。这两条肌腱经外踝后方走行。腓骨短肌止于足外侧缘内第五跖骨基底，而腓骨长肌则跨越外侧缘进入足底，继而向内侧走行，最终止于足内侧缘的骨骼。腓骨长肌以其吊带样作用，有助于维持足纵弓外侧部分的最高点，并支撑近侧横弓。
沿足外侧缘分布的重要皮肤血管和神经包括腓肠神经和小隐静脉。
