牙槽突（牙槽骨）是含有牙槽的骨嵴，位于承载牙齿的骨骼上（上颌骨和下颌骨）。
在上颌骨上，牙槽突是位于下表面的骨嵴，构成上颌骨最厚的部分。
牙槽突包含一个毗邻牙周膜的致密骨区域，称为固有牙槽骨（硬骨板）。正是这一部分通过牙周膜与牙根牙骨质相连。
颊肌附着于上颌骨和下颌骨的牙槽突上。
