面面（facial surface）是外侧、不规则凸起的表面，其特征为具有面嵴，作为肌肉的附着点。

其尾侧界为上颌结节，腹侧界为颧突，背侧界亦由颧突构成。在其吻侧面有眶下孔，即眶下管的开口。其前方有一凹陷，称为犬齿窝，延伸至眼眶。臼齿同样形成垂直走向的齿槽嵴。

变异：

在犬齿发达的物种中，犬齿窝的吻侧界由这些牙齿的齿槽所形成的骨嵴构成。
